Chiropractic care changed my life

I came to see Dr. Mattingly in April because of pain in my knees. I suffered for about two weeks with this problem. I was taking Tylenol once or twice a day with little or no results. It was hard for me to walk and I couldn’t climb stairs. It was a struggle to do anything. I couldn’t do my household chores. I also had to give up walking the track at the Community Center, which I enjoyed doing.

I saw Dr. Mattingly three times a week for about a month before I started seeing any real and constant improvement. I am now able to do all the things that I enjoy and I am down to one visit per month. I think chiropractic care is wonderful. Everyone should try chiropractic before they go to a physician or consider surgery. Chiropractic care changed my life dramatically and Dr. Mattingly is very good.

Active and sleeping again!

For six months I had experienced pain in my right leg and knee which became worse as each day passed. I had great pain when I tried to walk, and going up or down stairs was a nightmare. I could not drive more than a few miles as my right leg would start to go into muscle spasms. I did not sleep well, as every time I moved I had pain. The on-going pain both night and day had really stressed me out.

I made several visits to my regular medical doctor. X-rays of my lumbar spine were taken and I was told there was nothing on the x-rays that would be a cause for my leg pain. I was offered pain killers by my medial physician. One of my sons suggested I see a chiropractor.

In December, I came to see Dr. Mattingly. After several visits to Dr. Mattingly, the pain began to lessen and I started to be able to sleep. At Christmas time I started to feel better and could enjoy a little bit of shopping. During the month of January I was able to go up and down stairs in a normal way. I have now resumed all normal activities. I am driving, both my car and my tractor, and I am enjoying my spring gardening. Thank you Dr. Mattingly for giving me back my normal life pattern.

Dr. Mattingly helped speed recovery after surgery

I started going to Mattingly Chiropractic in May of this year. I had been to medical doctors for a problem with my knees which is known as Osgood-Schlatter’s disease. This disease causes my knees to hurt constantly, making little things like walking or squatting painful. The medical doctor told me they could not do anything for me until I stopped growing, at which point they could do surgery. However, since I have been going to Dr. Mattingly, he has been adjusting me knees, making the pain almost non-existent.

I have also had a problem for the last several years with enlarged lymph nodes – another problem the medical doctors had no answers for. They put me through several tests to determine what the cause could be, but NO results! They decided that my only option was to remove my swollen lymph nodes. I did NOT have this surgery, because your lymph nodes are important to your body’s health as they help your body flush out toxins. I talked to Dr. Mattingly about this and he put me on some nutritional supplements and in a very short time my lymph nodes were no longer swollen!

After the great success with the nutrition for my lymph nodes, my father asked Dr. Mattingly if there was any nutrition that would help me heal after a recent shoulder surgery to tighten my muscles and ligaments. The surgeon said it would be at least 3 to 4 months before I would be able to do much with my shoulder. After 5 days on these nutritional supplements I went for a checkup with my surgeon. He was AMAZED to see that I had no swelling and I had much more motion than he had anticipated after such a short time. It has only been six weeks since my surgery and I had full range of motion with no restrictions!

Although I had never been to a chiropractor before, I have had such great results that I strongly recommend chiropractic care to anyone.

Neck and hand stiffness gone

I suffered from several things before coming to see Dr. Mattingly. I had had Carpal Tunnel Syndrome for two years. For ten years I had endured migraine headaches. This past year I had stiffness in my neck so severe that I was not able to turn my head. These three problems affected my normal life enormously. I found it hard to open jars and grasp items. With the migraines I found it hard to function at all while at home or work. The neck stiffness was painfully noticeable when driving my car.

I saw an orthopedic surgeon for my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. He performed surgery and the symptoms still remained. This relieved the pain, but did not get rid of the problem. I had not seen a doctor for the neck stiffness until I came to see Dr. Mattingly.

I have only been coming for three months but already I have seen results. The numbness and pain are not as extensive in my hands and arms. I have only had two migraine headaches a month. These were not as severe as they had been. I have had much more movement of my head and neck with less pain. Overall I have had much more freedom of movement. Medication was just masking the symptoms. I am much more aware of my own job as a maintainer of a healthy body. I am better in general. By working hard at walking daily and taking minerals, I am in much better health. I am looking to the future that my diabetes will be helped by my nutrition and supplement program too.

The pain has disappeared

I came to see Dr. Mattingly in March of 1997 due to pain in my back that radiated to all of my limbs. I have dealt with lower back pain since I was 15 years old. I had been to three different doctors and had taken two different types of drugs. The drugs enabled me to work, but I couldn’t give a hundred percent. The pain became so intense that it hurt to sit or stand.

I started to see great improvement by May 1997. The pain has disappeared. I didn’t know that chiropractic could help so many different ailments. I think my chiropractor is fabulous. I’ve even referred my granddaughter to Dr. Mattingly. I am now a big believer in chiropractic care and recommend it to everyone.

Walking is no longer trouble

I met Dr. Mattingly at the Women’s Lifestyles Show at the Peoria Civic Center in October 1999. I could only walk short distances. My back hurt constantly. I had been to an orthopedic physical therapist, but nothing seemed to help. On November 5, 1999 I began treatment with Dr. Mattingly. Initially I was treated three times per week, but eventually I was doing well enough to come only once a month for maintenance. Now I feel good overall and have no problem walking and my back is not hurting.

I wish I would have started years ago…

I began chiropractic treatment in May of 2001 after my wife started receiving treatment at Mattingly Chiropractic, and I saw how well she was responding. I have had lower back pain and stiffness in my neck and hips. The problems began approximately 3 or 4 years ago and were probably the result of previous back traumas caused by strain and heavy lifting. I had never had the problems tended to before, and consequently the stiffness and soreness had gotten increasingly worse. My wife suggested that I try chiropractic adjustments to see if it would help give me some relief. After receiving regular adjustments and doing some exercises that Dr. Mattingly has recommended, the stiffness is dissipating and I am able to do simple chores without the severe pain and stiffness in my back that I had been experiencing. I also began taking some supplements recommended (i.e. glucosamine to help my joints; a digestive enzyme that has helped my stomach problems; and a multiple vitamin). Although I was aware of Chiropractic for many years I just never gave it a try. Now that I have experienced some improvement, I wish I would have started years ago, before my problems became so severe.

Chiropractic care always first choice

I have been going to a Chiropractor on and off since 1962. I started going for back and leg pain. I have seen two Doctors out of state, one Doctor who moved, one who passed away and one that I did not care for. I could not walk, bend, stoop, or keep house when I came to see Dr. Mattingly on July 2, 1996. Since then I have seen a lot of improvement. Chiropractic will always be my first choice of treatment for my back and leg pain.

Range of motion is increased

I initiated chiropractic care in January of 1996 and by April my two problems had been corrected. While this may seem to be a long time in receiving chiropractic care, one must consider the problem too.

Problem number one was in my neck. I had numbness and tingling in my left shoulder that would sometimes extend to my left elbow. I had dealt with this problem for over a year until I realized that I had lost much range of motion in my neck. Problem number two was in my lower back. For three months I suffered the loss of range of motion and numbing pain down my left hip and thigh. Both of these health problems were affecting my life. I bowl, golf and work out at a health club. Each week I saw myself slowly becoming less flexible with additional loss of range of motion.

After twenty-eight visits and stretching exercises, my problem are now erased. I realized that it is in my best interest to see Dr. Mattingly once every month to six weeks. I feel that this form of preventative care is far better than waiting a year and a half and suffering pain and loss of motion and activity. I highly recommend the benefits of chiropractic care. The improved health benefits coupled with a higher quality of life speak for themselves. I am highly impressed with chiropractic health care and the flexibility I have gained.

My life is back to normal

For three years or more I have suffered from low back pain that steadily got worse. I also had neck and shoulder tightness as well as carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand and arm. Working with these conditions was very hard. I am a hair stylist and am on my feet all day. I could not get a good nights sleep. It hurt bad even to roll over. People commented on how I walked and carried myself. Just a full day's work around the house was difficult. I had not seen any doctors before I came to see Dr. Mattingly. It took no more than three weeks to feel better. It was a definite improvement. I do not ever regret seeking Dr. Mattingly. It has made everyday living and activities normal again.
